Training
05/07/08

End of week one.Approx 25 at training each of the sessions with a mixture of the teams represented but good response from youth and colts where several new faces were noticeable. Great to see fat Bob on the fanzone pushing to get people motivated, well done Pizza me old mate kep it going.
Only heard one negative response so far so lets get this out of the way so we can all concentrate on the way forward.
All players need to train to some extent, part of which is running about,if any thinks otherwise then they cannot really expect to play at a high level of the game or at a high level at this club as the game and opposition are getting quicker and players fitter. To compete this season we need to be 15% fitter at least. The new rules will benefit our quick open rugby and people will need to stay focused, concentrate and be in close support of the ball carrier. Last year our fitness told in several matches this year will be no different. Being fitter and stronger will enable you to feel confident and enjoy the game more, especially if we are winning. Our training as per last year will change as the season gets closer but for now there is a need to do the hard work and build our team/ club spirit.
