Welcome back to another season of rugby!
As we have the backdrop of the Women’s Rugby World Cup taking place in the UK throughout September and early October, we have been a busy bunch during the pre-season period, with a full schedule of summer training and guest appearances from Black Ferns legend, Kendra Cocksedge and the Crusaders’ Lead Performance Scientist, Beth Smith.
The Men’s 1st XV played a couple of pre-season ‘friendlies’ and the value of that can be seen through their gritty victory away to Ely on the first league match of the 2025 – 2026 season. With both squads having achieved promotions, they have worked hard to turn up to these new leagues with intent and purpose, so it makes for an interesting and hopefully successful season for those teams.
Minis and Youth are back with a vengeance too, with new players coming into the ranks continuously so that the pipeline for our future senior superstars is looking promising. All age grades from the previous season move up a year, taking the Coaching teams they know with them for consistency, familiarity and the valuable relationship those coaches build with their young charges.
After huge engagement with local West Norfolk schools last season, our key team of coaching leads will be back out there, taking rugby to children of all ages and backgrounds, representing all that is best about this sport and hopefully sowing the seeds that will grow into a life-long love of the sport.
We hope you are as excited to see the new season as we are, and can’t wait to see you at a President’s Lunch or pitch-side, supporting one or all of our West Norfolk teams. Up the West!
