West Norfolk Rugby Club have had three of their current U15s Youth Boys squad selected for the highly-competitive Leicester Tigers Developing Player Program (DPP), which sees them presented with an incredible opportunity to take their game to the next level and potentially follow in the footsteps of International, British & Irish Lions and England stars such as Manu Tuilagi, Dan Cole and the locally based Youngs brothers – Ben and Dan.
U15s Coach Kevin Foley said “These lads have worked incredibly hard to get here – both in training and during games – so I am delighted that they have got on the radars of the Leicester Tigers talent scouts. I’m incredibly proud to have been able to work with them and am excited for their futures, wherever they might lead, and I’m looking forward to coaching all the lads in what is a brilliant talent pool in our U15s squad.”
With a strong Youth Boys section, West Norfolk are currently competing at both League and Cup levels, and Minis and Youth Chair, Ben Jones, told us that “As a Club, we work hard to instil the basics of the game into our younger players from the very start of their journey in rugby. We also always have qualified Coaches working with our teams, and those high standards are paying off as we develop an ever-stronger pipeline of young talent, building them into the players of the future.”
The West Norfolk Youth players heading to the Academy are Fraser Pick, Robin Woodcock and Tom Lloyd.
